Finally – Flowers!

I am so late this year dressing up our tiny yard with some color, but finally got it done today. Hubby and I visited our friend Nat yesterday and stayed over at his house near Boston. On the way home we stopped at Lowe’s for a few things, so I grabbed 8 little pots of Petunias and some potting soil. It was a beautiful day for planting, low 70’s, sunny, and breezy.

Hand-Me-Downs!

My friend and former neighbor Martha [we lived next to each other for 7 years before I moved to Ipswich to live with hubby] is downsizing, and asked if I’d come to her house last week to see if I’d be interested in anything she was getting rid of. Yay!

OMG Errands.

I had today off from work. I had some extra vacation time built up, so I’ve taken 3 Wednesdays off over the past couple months. I like taking Wednesday off because you work 2 days, then have one day off, then work 2 more days, and have 2 days off. I prefer shopping on weekdays because the stores are blissfully vacant, so Wednesdays are perfect for errands.

My Favoritest Things

As you probably know by now, I HATE TO SHOP. Hate it. I do almost all of my shopping online. 99% of what I need can be found at either Amazon.com or Gap.com. But shopping online bypasses the “browsing” element of shopping. I often miss out on stuff I’d otherwise feel compelled to buy. Which can be a good thing AND a bad thing!

IKEA Trip 2015

Unfortunately I woke up with a really bad headache. I decided to go to IKEA anyways, without taking Advil first. Mistake. But it worked out OK. I got everything I went for! I can’t WAIT to install the new track lighting kits I got for the girl cave & master bedroom, and the new firefly LED chandelier I got for the girl cave.

The Story of Us

In honor of Valentine’s Day [our fourth!], I decided to tell the story of “us”. As in Jim & I. It’s been a fairytale romance from the start, with no signs of slowing down. Which makes us both SO happy!!! We’ve both suffered through years of bad relationships in the past, so we were ready for something good!

OMG Snow.

My office was closed again today due to the crazy #@$% snow that keeps falling. There’s literally nowhere to put it anymore. I have no idea how much snow is actually on the ground – somewhere between 4 & 5′ I believe. The snowbanks are so high you have to heave your whole body to get the new snow up and over the top. It really sucks!

The Driveway from Helleth?

I didn’t think so. But apparently we have the driveway from Hell. After Tuesday’s storm, where we got slammed with 28″ of snow and 60mph winds [all within about 12 hours], we waited for our normal plow guy to come. And waited. And waited. Jim finally called him Wednesday afternoon and was like “dude, where art thoueth?” [he didn’t really say it that way, but in my head he did] and the plow dude was like “I shall arriveth to thy house by 6pm”.

OMG eBay.

Another weekend gone with no DIY to show for it. Meh. But, like last weekend, I was still very productive! I don’t know why that’s important, but it is… otherwise I have “OMG I did NOTHING this weekend!” guilt, which plagues me all week. So as I sipped my tea Saturday morning, I thought about all the things I could do.

The Living Room is 47°

This is what happens when you come home from work on not just the coldest day of THIS year, but also of LAST year, and find that your husband [with all the best intentions!], has turned the heat down to 50°. In my experience, when it’s 7.7° degrees outside, with a -30° windchill, and you live in a drafty house, you bite the bullet and leave the heat set at around 65° so it’s at least bearable when you get home! Extra money down the drain be damned!
