The workbench I bought last year at Home Depot was very affordable [$70] but I have been having issues lately using it for stained glass work [which is what I bought it for]. The cutting oil soaks in and makes ugly marks and when water from my glass grinder gets on it it swells up.
A few months ago I completed 10 Annoying Projects in 10 Days. I realized there’s sort of a never ending list of annoying projects, so from time to time you’ll see a post about them. Today’s post includes the always awful “pull the stove out & clean behind it”. YUK!!!
Or “How I broke our garbage disposal the same exact way I broke it 5 months ago” *SIGH*. And once again it was hubby who came to the rescue!
Today I heard a huge crash. I ran out into the front hall and saw one of the downstairs hall cat platforms had ripped right out of the wall. Apparently when Birdie was leaping off it onto a higher platform it was the last straw for the 6 wall anchors and the whole shelf ripped right out [thankfully she was fine!]
Today I decided to winterize the catio. I thought about doing it last year but never did. It’s became sort of a necessity because the cat door in the dining room window keeps blowing open creating a very cold draft. I bought some clear plastic tarp at Home Depot and used my Dewalt power stapler to attach it to the catio and connector.
Ever since I conquered 10 annoying projects in 10 days, I’ve wanted to remove 10 items from each room. Not for any real reason, we don’t have THAT much clutter, but everyone has some. And by remove I don’t necessarily mean toss. The majority got tossed, but some stuff was just in the wrong room for whatever reason.
As everyone knows, drains are prone to clogging. When I first moved into the condo in 2012 the shower drain wasn’t draining very well so I unscrewed the drain cap and [wearing 2 pairs of latex gloves] pulled out a hair ball 8 inches long and 2 inches thick. It was SO DISGUSTING. Since then I’ve tried to clean the sink drains & shower drain every year, but I usually forget until one of them starts backing up.
This was originally part of my “10 Projects in 10 Days” post, but I decided it needed it’s own post. On Monday after work I started fixing the newel post at the base of our main staircase. It’s been loose for years & getting slowly worse.
I set out last week to complete 10 small, annoying projects in 10 days. It took me 6 days to complete the first 5 items, but I was able to complete the 2nd set in 5 days. So overall I am very pleased! I probably removed a cubic foot of cat fur & dust from the house.
