Maui, Hawaii 2019 – Part 6
This is my final Hawaii 2019 post. On our last night in Maui, we were excited to find ourselves front and center for the 7th Annual Lahainatown Classic Car Show!

After installing the living room smart thermostat, and seeing how well it worked, and how cool it was to access it from our phones, we bought 2 more Geo Lux: one for the dining room/girl cave zone and one for the bedroom zone.
Last month, when we finally turned our heat on for the year, we realized our living room thermostat had broken. The buttons did nothing. Jim suggested that instead of replacing it, we try a smart thermostat, so we could control and check our heat from our Android phones and the internet. Cool!
On our 2nd to last day we spent all afternoon at the Maui Tropical Plantation. We had visited in 2015 and were looking forward to getting back.
On our 5th day in Maui Jim & I booked a “Road to Hāna” tour for everyone with Valley Isle Excursions. Valley Isle was highly recommended by the Pioneer Inn’s concierge. There are 600+ turns & 50+ one-lane bridges [and rental cars aren’t allowed on the whole road] so it’s highly suggested you hire a tour company!
A few months ago I made the decision to flip flop the bedroom and girl cave light fixtures because the bedroom ones were too bright and the girl cave ones weren’t bright enough. Success! Too bad I forgot the bedroom AC was on a different circuit when I went to change out the outlet.
I only have 2 pictures from our 4th day in Maui. But on day 5 we boarded the Atlantis submarine for a view of the harbor from 100 feet down.
On Day 2 of our Maui trip Jim & myself, Pop & Susie all piled into Pop’s rental car and headed to Kula Botanical Garden & Haleakalā Volcano.
Last April Jim & I flew to Maui, Hawaii, where [as a total treat!] we were joined by his Dad and his Dad’s wife Susie, and his Auntie Alice. We had a fabulous time!
I’m starting to get my project mojo back. Woohoo!!! Everyone always asks “where do you get your energy?” and this past 6 months has been a great example of how long it can take for my energy to recharge. I have done NOTHING.
