I spent all of last week in Germany visiting my German family. It was awesome. More about that trip in later posts. On the way over, I had a 7 hour layover in Copenhagen. I took the metro from the airport to Kongens Nytorv and went on a one hour boat tour of the canals.
This project took way longer than I expected and was full of harassing little mishaps, but it’s finally DONE! I started July 26th and finished August 26th.
I have NO IDEA if this was a good idea. About 2 years ago the piece of thick, plate glass that has always covered the painted bureau in our bedroom broke when something heavy fell on it. Since then the 2 pieces have been sitting on the girl cave floor. Today after work I decided to try fixing the glass.
I can’t believe it’s my 5th Blogiversary. I started back in 2013 and have come so far in 5 years! I am so comfortable with everything I never used to be. Buying wood. Cutting my own wood. Buying paint. Fixing things instead of replacing them.
Lately it’s been so rainy, which is great, because our plants & trees & grass & rivers need it! Sometimes I wake up at night when the rain gets heavy and listen to it splattering onto the deck instead of going quietly down the gutter. Every time I hear it I think “I really need to get up there and see why it’s not draining”.
Why is everything so much harder than you think it will be? After fixing the ceiling fan, I had a hell of a time finding a ceiling paint color match. And just when I thought the wall was done I discovered a problem. Meh.
I had to wait 24 hours after patching the bedroom wall ceiling crack with joint compound before I could sand it. I sanded it and finished applying 2 coats of blue paint to the wall. I also managed to almost rip our ceiling fan off the ceiling…
This morning I fixed the crack between the bedroom accent wall and ceiling, and this afternoon I started to paint. We also buried Franc today.
Yesterday I began work on the master bedroom accent wall, something I’ve been meaning to do since 2015!
Hubby & I have finally joined the Dark Side and gotten a King sized bed. We and the cats absolutely love it!
