Finally – Flowers!

Finally – Flowers!

I am so late this year dressing up our tiny yard with some color, but finally got it done today.  Hubby and I visited our friend Nat yesterday and stayed over at his house near Boston.  On the way home this morning we stopped at Lowe’s for a few things.  I meandered the cart over to the garden center and grabbed 8 little pots of Petunias and some potting soil.  It was a beautiful day for planting, low 70’s, sunny, and breezy:

Ignore the green planters, there’s nothing in them yet except weeds.  I need to get some Bachelor Buttons and Zinnia seeds tomorrow after work.  I could only find vegetable seeds at Lowe’s.  If we had a yard, I would have a vegetable garden.  But our yard is TINY so potted flowers work better.

My Orchid Cactus is so happy to be outside, it’s been hanging out there for the past month and has been flowering happily ever since.  It’s covered in new buds:

I also took Bonkers on a walk today – he’s so funny – he just marches right out the door and across the driveway now, towards the neighbor’s house.  He investigated the entrance to the fish ladder walkway and our neighbor’s side yard today [I lost his blue harness leash, and Petco only had pink, but he doesn’t seem to mind]:

I also took a heavenly nap and woke up to both boys in bed with me:

I hope you all had a good weekend!

HA HA HA! ya, that was a lucky shot. Darwin was in mid-yawn. I was trying to get a picture of Bonkers at the end of the bed because when I first woke up he was on his back with all 4 feet in the air and big smile. But when I sat up the take the picture he flopped over. But Darwin yawning was worth it 🙂

You’re way ahead of me, I’m embarrassed to say.
Our deck is so cold and windy that I don’t dare leave my new plants out overnight when the temp drops down to the low 50s and the winds increase. But I think by Wednesday we’re expected to get some summer-like temperatures. Can’t wait!
