As everyone knows, drains are prone to clogging. When I first moved into the condo in 2012 the shower drain wasn’t draining very well so I unscrewed the drain cap and [wearing 2 pairs of latex gloves] pulled out a hair ball 8 inches long and 2 inches thick. It was SO DISGUSTING. Since then I’ve tried to clean the sink drains & shower drain every year, but I usually forget until one of them starts backing up.
This morning I sat on the couch for 2 hours watching “Hoarders” [one of my favorite shows] and foiling the edges of the 27 stained glass circles I cut yesterday. It takes a while but is always satisfying when it’s done. Then headed up to the girl cave & soldered the edges.
Today I spent 3 hours cutting 27 stained glass circles for my 2nd stained glass circles project. I probably made way too many but better to have too many than not enough!
This was originally part of my “10 Projects in 10 Days” post, but I decided it needed it’s own post. On Monday after work I started fixing the newel post at the base of our main staircase. It’s been loose for years & getting slowly worse.
I set out last week to complete 10 small, annoying projects in 10 days. It took me 6 days to complete the first 5 items, but I was able to complete the 2nd set in 5 days. So overall I am very pleased! I probably removed a cubic foot of cat fur & dust from the house.
Seriously, America? A racist, lying, woman-hating bully who doesn’t believe in climate change. A man beloved by white supremacists & the KKK. Awesome. I am glad this coming Friday is a Federal holiday. I am looking forward to immersing myself in stained glass art & painting art. Creating is always good for the soul.
You know those little projects on the perpetual “to do” list that never seem to get done? Because they’re small, annoying, or both? Yeah. I have 10 of those that have been on my list for months. I decided I’ll do one a day for the next 10 days. I figure each one will take between 30 & 60 minutes. Originally I planned to post this all in one post, but it got too long, so I’m breaking it in half.
In early August my BFF Abbie asked if I’d like to help her paint her twin girls’ bedroom wall. She’d already started an Apple tree on Claire’s side of the room, and I opted to paint a Cherry Blossom branch on Meara’s side. However, Meara told her mommy she’d prefer a TREE because Claire had a tree. Made sense to me!
The replacement heating element for the dryer arrived in the mail this morning. I swapped it out with the old one & put the dryer back together. Miraculously [so far] it’s working!!!
For the past week the dryer has been dead. We cleared out the lint but it still didn’t work. We checked the manual which suggested we test the thermistor, the high limit thermostat, the regular thermostat, the cycling thermostat, & the heating coil. Um, what??? We attempted to set up a service call but the tech never showed. That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands!
