Building an Outdoor Catio

This was by far my most favorite project I’ve done yet!  It was amazing to go from conception to completion in 3 months.  I designed and built it all by myself, it’s the first thing I’ve ever built.  The frame is 6’x6’x3′ and made of 2×4’s, rigid-tie connectors, & chicken wire.  The catio has a clear polycarbonate roof to keep the rain and snow out.  It’s connected to a cat door in our dining room window by a 5′ connector made of 2×2’s, strong-tie connectors, & chicken wire.  Our 2 rescue boys absolutely love it:

I had to climb inside the catio to install the 2 ramps:
