Deck – Part 4

In case you missed it, here are the previous links for this now-completed project:

PART 1 – PLANNING, CEMENT FOOTINGS & FRAMING
PART 2 – CONSTRUCTION
PART 3 – BEDROOM DOOR
PART 4 – YARD DOOR & COMPLETED!

As of my last deck post, we had a deck and we had a door.  The door being a HUGE improvement over climbing out the window!

Since then, the 2nd French door – leading from the living room out to the yard – has been installed.  It’s a twin to the one upstairs leading out to the deck, and is located directly below that one.  Here’s a before & after of the living room door:

Huge improvement!  Darwin agrees.

The contractor also “wrapped” our 2 deck posts [the ones in the yard that support the deck] with white sheathing.  It looks SO MUCH BETTER!  Before on the left, after on the right:

[OMG I need to clean our fence!  Gross!  It’s all green… I’ll add that to my to-do list…]

Late last week a painter arrived to prime & paint both French doors.  The insides are now white, and the outsides are black – they look awesome!

Living room/yard door:

60g        60h

Bedroom/deck door:

60i        60j

Here’s what the world looks like from our deck, starting with the view towards the road, and pivoting to the right:

60k        60l

60m        60n

That pretty much wraps up the deck project!  Next up is re-building our new front steps [a project I could DIY, but the condo association is handling it since it’s considered a building improvement].  Woohoo!
